Is pepper spray legal in Ireland? What the heck are they gonna do with the jewellery? Jewellery has very little resale value. I guess they mightmelt it down but there again I would think that would take some expertise to remove the gems and then some kind of kiln?

Did you ever see those Adverts on TV which promise you cash for 'old' gold? Just pop it in an envelope and hey presto we send you back the lolly! No questions asked, apparantly.
There's people about Town buying up old jewellery (I've seen them at work in the Town Centre) and a shop opened for that purpose recently.
I wonder what questions are asked of the sellers?

You would think they would work something like pawn shops, requiring ID on the goods being sold and the Gardai would be giving them pictures of stolen merchandise.

Many of you know Valerie, who runs a business directly across the street. She was the customer in this incident. I do not have any details on the employee.

But, best wishes go out to them both. Traumatic is likely an understatement. Please include them both in your thoughts/prayers.

News is arriving stating the suspects have been arrested at "the airport". I assume that means Dublin.

Regardless, this is an excellent piece of news, and fingers crossed, justice will occur.

I believe Rothair may have more detail on this. I got an insider lead on the facts and laid it off to our most experienced journalist. He has to be careful as no charges have been laid yet, let's see what he eventually reports.
